Michelle and Charlie stumbled across our Mountain Weddings adventures over on Instagram and fell in love with cool places we get to explore around Queenstown and Wanaka. With the help of Covid-19, their ideas about a tropical escape were kicked to the curb but traded for a simple, fun and stress-free wedding in the South. We started with a cute First Look down at Frankton Beach. These two are seriously special; filled with joy, laughter and such pure love that anybody witnessing their chemistry is just forced to smile. We couldn’t wipe the smile or giggles off their beautiful faces if we tried!!
For Michelle and Charlie’s ceremony, we headed to the impressive Earnslaw Burn. You can see from the look on their faces that just arriving and taking it all in is a big moment. During winter, the glacier becomes even more of a standout. The towering cliff side becomes coated in snow and the valley is filled with the sound of avalanches crashing down the sides. Luckily, we are more than far enough away to not be affected by the falling snow but it does make for some pretty gnarly sound effects. Mother Nature is seriously cool. After a charming ceremony and powerful, personal vows we had some fun using the reflection pools for dramatic photos in between loads of cuddles, jokes and Eskimo kisses.
For a second landing, we headed to some snow in the Rees Valley. Looking out west, the sun made a special debut for us and lit up the clouds so beautifully. We made the most of the epic lighting and had to have a wee dance and pop the champers while we were all soaking up the sun. Charlie may or may not have dropped Michelle in the snow…whether or not it was intentional has yet to be determined!!
It was an absolutely, absolutely gorgeous day and so much was because of Michelle and Charlie’s sweet personalities and total giddiness over the fact that they were getting to marry their best friends. It was simply infectious!! THANK YOU again you two, we had so much fun and feel so lucky to have meet you both and gotten to celebrate with you. Congratulations and we wish you all the love, luck and laughter in the world for your futures together xx
