QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What happens if we get bad weather on our wedding day?

We recommend that you book your trip with a few dates either side of your planned wedding date. This gives us the flexibility to reschedule to a day with more beautiful weather, if it is forecast to be windy or raining.
*Note this is subject to supplier availability.

If your wedding date is significant to you then we could fly to a different location that is more sheltered from the weather conditions.
*Note this at our pilot's discretion and safety plus comfort is always our top priority.

What months are best for photos in the snow?

July and August are the best months for experience proper snow in Queenstown. This is the middle of our winter season, so most peaks will be covered in snow and the air temperature at our landing locations will be freezing (between 5 to -10°C usually, depending on wind chill).

Depending on how the winter progresses, September can often still have snow on the higher peaks. If there is any snow left underfoot on lower peaks in September, it will be slushier as it is starting to melt away.

You will definitely need a coat and boots for a winter Mountain Wedding!

We hate the cold, but still want photos in the snow. What can we do?

Snow and cold tend to come hand-in-hand...! But a good middle-ground can be to elope at a warmer time of year (October - April) and then fly to a glacier for some photos. This means that you aren't freezing during the ceremony, and your time in the snow (and cold) is for lots of fun photos and stunning scenery.

We can fly to Isobel Glacier, Tyndall Glacier, The Humboldts and Tutoko Glacier year-round.

Is ground transport included in your packages?

We provide ground transport for the wedding couple on the wedding day, as long as you are staying in the vicinity of our departing airport.

We have a luxurious series 150 Toyota LandCruiser Prado so that you have a comfortable and spacious ride, while also allowing us to drive off-road and cross rivers if we need!

Can you help with restaurant and accommodation recommendations?

This one is easy. Yes, absolutely!

Can we bring our own marriage celebrant?

For an official, legal NZ wedding ceremony, your marriage celebrant needs to be a registered celebrant here in New Zealand. For this, they need to be a New Zealand citizen and have a current registration with the BDM office.

If you are travelling from overseas, this often means that friends or family can only perform your ceremony if it is symbolic, but not legal. You could then look after the legal/paperwork side of things back home.
