Kelvin Heights Lakefront, Queenstown – Intimate Mountain Weddings

The untouched Queenstown lakefront at Kelvin Heights is one of our best kept secrets. We love bringing couples out here for beautiful (and sometimes dramatic!) photos and it also makes a perfect spot for intimate weddings. It is Crown-owned land, meaning it is not a private venue and anyone may walk or cycle past, though it is typically quiet and isolated. This location isn’t suitable for larger groups, as chairs are not practical on the rocky and undulating shoreline. Similarly, to keep in the natural setting, archways and confetti etc aren’t permitted.

Note: There is no indoor venue here, so it would be sensible to book accommodation with a lovely view/balcony/lounge as a backup option. A lot of our couples suck it up and embrace stormy conditions, but it is still a good idea…just in case!

For a mountain adventure, we would recommend a location such as Bayonet Peaks, Cecil Peak or The Remarkables.
