Colette and Russell travelled over from Austin, Texas, for a destination elopement here in Queenstown. Joined by two of their best friends, the whole day was filled with laughter and wide smiles. The weather deterred our plans just a little, as we couldn’t get out to Coromandel Peak due to cloud and wind. Instead, we adventured to the epic Earnslaw Burn – a beautiful “plan B” option if you ask us!! To which Colette and Russell completely agreed! 🤗
After a sweet ceremony in front of the awe-inspiring Gilkison Falls, led by their friend, we had some downtime popping the champagne and soaking in the beauty of Mother Nature. The waterfall-fed river had a few still reflection pools for the newly-weds to dance around, which created some cool angles that we could capture. Afterwards, we were able to stop at a second landing on the way back to Queenstown, so we parked the chopper further up the valley on the Earnslaw Ridgeline. Looking out to Glenorchy and the Dart and Rees river deltas in one direction and back up to the Earnslaw Glacier in the other, with long golden grass to play in, was the icing on the cake!
Congratulations to you both again, Colette and Russell! We had the best day laughing with you both and capturing your love! We hope you are still laughing and turning everyday life into a beautiful adventure xx
